17:
FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT IN THE KNOW (which is probably none of you hurf durf), this refers to Cyborg 17, from the manga/anime Dragonball (Z). I play him as droid_rage over at campfuckudie! WHICH STILL MAKES ME REALLY HAPPY you have no idea.

Anyway, I've had a HUGE fondness for him since the Android Saga was first aired on TV way back when by Cartoon Network. I'd already become a huge Trunks fangirl, thanks to participating in this DBZ LARP thing we had going on in school during that time (we were all young and foolish middleschoolers then :')) and being chosen as Trunks; so I was casting around for some plausible way to fit that AWESOME new character I had made as a love interest for him into the series. AND LO, THERE WERE EEEEVIL CYBORGS. WHO WERE TWINS. and also that one other one that nobody paid attention to. CLEARLY I COULD JUST WRITE HIM OUT OF THE STORY AND STICK HER IN THERE AS THEIR YOUNGER SISTER and thus I spent way too many years calling 17 and 18 aniki and neechan, respectively. Oh, for my weeaboo days nevermind the fact that I still do it sometimes when I'm alone lololo

The rest is a long, terrible story involving lots of apping, reapping and discovering that "hey, 17 is PRETTY DAMN AWESOME the more I think about it" which I still really need to put in his journal. I just halfway wrote it before realizing it was too long for this meme, so if I finish that in a timely manner I'll edit and link it here \o/ Suffice it to say that 17 is my pun-cracking, highly immature, assholish soul animal who I still think of as the older brother I never had and that I WILL NEVER GIVE HIM UP, LET HIM DOWN, RUN HIM AROUND, OR DESERT HIM. Ever. |D

Dragonball:
Okay, I admit it. I am only into Dragonball fandom for Trunks and the cyborgs :D I've never finished the series past partway into the Buu saga, I've only read up through the first Tenkaichi Budokai in the original DB, and half of the time when tyrjiora is bugging me to remember stuff about things that happen in any part of the series other than the Trunks-Android-Cell sagas my answer is along the lines of "lol IDK :D" Ignore the fact that I have a huge nerdy timeline that includes all of the major happenings in the series.

Suki: C-c-c-combobreaker! Suki does not have anywhere near the emotional signifiance to me that any of the other words do. I mainly apped her because of vicious topping by achtung_baby, robowolf, and laserdragon and because I love mamuuut dearly and wanted to do something nice for her :D ...OKAY REALLY I JUST WANTED TO BE PART OF THE COOL KIDS (by which I mean the Avatar cast at camp. WHO ARE ALL AMAZING SERIOUSLY). I... still don't feel all that much of a connection with her, but I love playing her when I am not being lazy. I have a lot of fun combing through the very slow ongoing canon review I'm doing and just taking notes on her personality |D She's interesting, and I wish she had gotten more screentime/character development.

Also the not feeling a connection with her is a dirty, dirty lie when I see people badmouther her in fandom. SUKI ≠ MARY SUE, GUYS. B|

Drawing:
I identify myself as an artist, even though I guess it's mostly a hobby and I've never made any money from it (unless you count selling Pokemon drawings to people back in 5th grade). I've been drawing since I was 9, and while I don't think I'll ever go to school for it or try to make it into a career/try to draw seriously, that doesn't mean it's something I'll ever want to give up. The part of me that takes my art as SRS BZNSS does kind of gets pissy when people say that only drawing anime-style is not real art and that you aren't a realy artist if you can't draw in a realistic style, but you know what? I like my anime art. Someday I may learn how to draw realistically, but I don't see it happening any time soon |D I do need to draw more often though i am so out of practice auuuugh.

Iconning:
FUCK YEAH ICONNING. I LOVE IT. Iconning is pretty much an art form over at campfuckudie. I will never stop being amazed by the artistry some people put into these little 100x100 pixel squares to represent their characters. One of the things I was the most jazzed about after getting 17 was "FUCK YEAH I CAN COLOR PRETTY ICONS NOW :D" which is why I refuse to make things easy for myself and use the anime for his icons. (Also, the anime draws him really ugly :(). Of course, iconning has it's flip side, too. It took me almost two weeks just to finish his initial iconset (WHICH ISN'T EVEN UP TO 100 YET), and I'm currently redoing them because they are not pretty enough for me and also his skin is too washed out :x I kind of want to comission ceesoo to do a couple of samples of them for me to copy the style onto the rest because goddamn her icons are GORGEOUS. I can color them, but I just do not have that kind of stylistic taste. My ability to do interesting crops is getting better, though |D

...And that's only half of the fun! When you're done with the drawing part, you get to do keywords. I will never understand other games with their labels of "happy, confused, etc" when you can do things like SONG LYRICS. Or POETRY. Or terrible things like what mamuuut and biztheinsane did to Suki's keywords, which will always be my favorite next to 17's. I will never be able to have better keyword sets than theirs. |D I have a special love for 17's, since they're almost all lyrics from songs by Dream Theater, who did the background music for the special I've pulled most of his characterization from. THEY MAKE ME HAPPY IN MY NERDY MUSIC LOVER PLACE.
